MGSU and Kazakh colleagues to create corporate university in Astana

Round table "Construction education and science - the basis for the innovative development of the construction industry" was held in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) at the Representation of Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation in the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 1, 2024. The meeting was held on the initiative of MGSU and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Astana, reported by the Sputnik Kazakhstan information portal.

MGSU Vice-Rector Vera Galishnikova, Head of the Department of Construction Organization and Real Estate Management Peter Grabovy and Associate Professor of the Department of Tamara Narezhnaya represented university at the meeting. During the round table, it was decided to establish a corporate university in Kazakhstan under the auspices of MGSU. The new university will operate on the basis of one of the leading specialized universities in Kazakhstan. During the meeting, Professor Peter Grabovy announced a new specialty relevant for the CIS countries – housing and communal services engineer.

MGSU representatives, experts of Kazakhstani universities, together with diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Kazakhstan, also discussed the situation in the field of civil engineering education in both countries.
